Drinks orders were taken and we settled into the usual educated and intelligent conversation ... how did the Crossroads TV theme music go? This was followed by more discussion about TV programmes. Then we got on to the subject of narrow boats and falling in.
We had a short pause in conversation to remember the fact that Pastor Ian could not be with us as he was having an operation, or at least recovering from one. Someone said he was singing off key, so he took drastic action and had his tonsils removed. So after some time thinking about Ian, actually about 3.2 seconds, conversation continued. Well I say conversation, Tony told the story of a recent holiday where the family decided to have a go at Trout fishing (seemed like fun at the time). What they didn't know was you had to kill everything you caught with a rolling pin (think they call them priests, I guess because the fish gets last rites). Anyway, that started all the fisherman off, discussing the last time they spent 18 hours on some bank in the rain, only to catch 2 small fish, a boot and beer can. They of course through it all back in .. I never could see the point in that. Still each to their own, I'm sure it's relaxing.
The conversation continued up one end of the table with more food debates. The smell of sprouts and cabbage being cooked and eating black pudding with marmalade. The latter something Julian does, I didn't ask. It was then that all food discussions stopped because someone mentioned having their first ever MacDonald's, nuff said.
So I guess you want to hear about the food .. well it arrived and even though it was a big order, everything was there. The scoring was again high with a total of 22.8 out of 25. This is a good score with our new detailed scoring system. Quality, Quantity and Price all scored well. Someone did comment that the complimentary drink on the manager didn't happen this time. We guessed that last time the manager was trying to equal the sister establishment in Irthlingborough, which they did.
Everyone agreed that the meal was up to standard and that this place is hard to beat when it comes to the Curry Club. Of course the opinion expressed here is entirely personal.
Next month a pub and a few games!!! Until then.
